Magical Mountain

Setting up in the snow. Magical. This Florida girl was giddy with delight. Spinning, laughing, catching snowflakes with my tongue, and singing! Loudly. I scoped out a great campsite in the Uncompahgre National Forest outside of Ouray, CO. I packed up camp from Ridgway State Park (nice but sterile) and hit the wilderness. A gorgeous large site on a river overlooking snowcapped mountains. One of my favorite campsites I have ever camped in. I was the only one for miles until Phil and Pam from Arizona came back as they said it was going to clear around midnight. Lovely people. The fire was lit. The whiskey was poured and tales were told as the snow drifted down.

Like a sneeze, I just haiku-ed on the spot:

Snow on Aspen trees

Whiskey, fire, warmth, swirls rising

Bold river rushes
